Troubleshooting – Accessing Fics

If you’re having trouble accessing my website, below is a list of reasons why this might be happening.

* Your subscription is new

For some reason out of my control, subscriptions can sometimes take up to 24 hours to kick in. If you’ve subscribed within this time frame, the only thing you might need to do is wait a little longer. Some people find access is granted earlier on either the app or the website (but for some reason which one gives the access earlier changes depending on the user), so try logging in to both in case one gives you access sooner than the other!

* Your email and/or username is incorrect

A good indication could be if you’ve received a confirmation email for your subscription. Another way you can check is to message me to ask what details are listed on my end.

* Your payment has failed

There can be a few reasons why a payment may have failed. Your card might have expired, you may have had insufficient funds in your bank, or your bank may have blocked the payment, especially if you’re overseas. Unfortunately, WordPress doesn’t always inform you if they have been unable to take payment for your subscription. The best way to ensure that your payment was processed correctly is to check your bank for outgoing transactions.

* Your subscription has ended or for some reason is inactive.

This shouldn’t be an issue if you do not cancel your subscription yourself (I only cancel them on my end if there’s a duplicate member or if the member asks me to), but strange things happen sometimes. To ensure your subscription is still active, go to: www.wordpress.com/me/purchases and there you should see your subscription for my website listed.

* You’re not logged in to my website.

This one may seem silly, but it happens to the best of us. The best way to ensure you’re definitely logged into not just wordpress but my actual website, is to look for these buttons where a fic should be:

If you see any of these log in buttons, this would indicate you’re not logged into my site. Please click on the button for your tier, and log in again.

Alternatively, if you can’t see these buttons or the fic, try logging out of my website and logging in again to the correct tier.

* You haven’t scrolled down far enough.

Again, this one seems silly, but it’s happened more than you’d think! All my fictions feature one of two dividers depending if the content is ahead or exclusive. The dividers separate the fic info from the fic itself. The two messages read:

Read this fic 4 weeks ahead when you Subscribe!

Gain access to this exclusive content and more when you subscribe now!

I think some people must read that and assume they’re not subscribed, so they don’t scroll past the divider and find the fic they’re looking for. (If you’ve done this, don’t feel bad, it’s an easy mistake to make!!)

* You can access most stories except a certain one.

If you normally have no issues accessing my fics, but one happens to have a blank page, or just doesn’t show you the fic at all, and none of the above issues are relevant, please contact me. This might be an error on my end!

* I’ve tried all these things, and I still can’t access any of your stories!

Please contact me. While these are the only issues I can think of right now, maybe together we can work out what’s gone wrong!

Troubleshooting – Changing Payment Details & Cancelling

  1. Please visit: www.wordpress.com/me/purchases
  2. Click on your subscription for my website.
  3. Here you’ll see the options “Change payment method” and “Cancel plan”

If you still have issues, please let me know. I can cancel your subscription on my end, and if you wanted to change your payment details, you can resubscribe with the new details instead!

Troubleshooting – Changing your tier

Please only upgrade your tier if it’s been previously discussed with me.

  1. You will need to cancel your original subscription (see how above)
  2. Sign up to the new tier as you would have done originally.
