Summary: Y/N comes from very little, but is married off to Sam Wesson, a rich and powerful lawyer in Kansas. Her only job is to give him children. But Sam works away a lot, and Y/N isn’t getting pregnant. One day, a soldier fresh from the Civil war knocks on her front door looking for shelter and food, and offering help in any way he can.   3. So his dad got a slave pregnant. Could Greta be his sister? And he didn’t possibly know, that would explain the resentment Sam adoptive mother had against Greta and her mom.
